What we collect and why

Enquiries and bookings. When you book a call through Calendly, email us, or otherwise get in touch, we collect your name, email address, and any details you choose to share, such as your company, website and what you would like to discuss. We use this to respond to you, prepare for the call and follow up. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Free resources and email updates. When you sign up for a free resource such as the 20 Google Ads Tips PDF, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your first name. We use this to give you the resource and to send you occasional emails about Google Ads, as explained on the sign-up form. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Client data. If you become a client, we process the information needed to deliver the service, including contact details, business information and access to advertising and analytics accounts you grant us. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.

Website usage. We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to understand how the site is used, and Google Ads conversion measurement to understand which advertising leads to enquiries. This involves cookies and similar technologies and may include your IP address, approximate location, device and browser information, and the pages you visit. See the cookies section below. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving the website, and your consent where required for non-essential cookies.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, including:

  • Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) - email list management and delivery of free resources and updates.
  • Calendly - call scheduling.
  • Google - Analytics, Tag Manager and Ads.
  • Hostinger - website hosting.
  • Email and productivity providers used to run the business day to day.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, standard contractual clauses, or a UK adequacy decision or data bridge, so that your data receives a comparable level of protection.

We may also disclose personal data where required by law, regulation or a valid legal process.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries - up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client.
  • Client records - for the duration of the engagement and up to six years afterwards, to meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.
  • Email list - until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed, after which your details are deleted from the active list.
  • Analytics data - in line with Google Analytics retention settings, currently 14 months.

Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device by websites you visit. This site uses:

  • Essential cookies needed for the site to work, such as those used by the booking widget.
  • Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4, which help us understand how visitors use the site.
  • Advertising cookies set by Google Ads, used to measure whether our own advertising leads to enquiries.

Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you allow them through the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work, for example the booking widget.

The full list of cookies, what each one does and how long it lasts is in our cookie policy.
